Why we started oneteamcf purple heart summits

Back in 2006, 'The Warrior Tours' rebranded to ‘American300’ and now operating under the banner of ‘ONETEAM Colgan Foundation’ started providing resiliency minded mentors to our Department of Defense in an effort to improve individual and unit resiliency. 

Since then, over 100 volunteer mentors have traveled to 600+ bases visits sharing personal stories with Service Members of never quitting.  #neverquitseries

Now years later, ONETEAMCF has created a new program focused on big mountains and current and aspiring mentors willing to stand on top of them.

Our mission is to connect combat wounded, veterans, active duty personnel and civilian patriot mentors all in an effort to dream big and work hard to stand on top of our dreams.

Showcased PHS Climbers -

Benjamin Breckheimer, pictured above along with fellow Purple Heart Summits climber Chhiring Dorje Sherpa on top of Everest. Today Benjamin is just one mountain ( Denali - USA ) away from becoming the first combat wounded climber to achieve the seven summits of the world.

Single Kidney 7 Summits - #1K7S - David “Dash” Ashley, USAF Colonel ret. joined the PHS program in 2018 as a mentor who uniquely is also a uniformed service member living organ donor. While serving in the USAF, Dave was notified that a fellow officer was in need of a life saving kidney transplant. Dave volunteered to donate and after months of match testing was selected as a donor. Today, ‘Dash’ and his friend are both doing great.

To prove that life doesn’t stop after living organ donation, Dash has set a goal of achieving the 7 summits of the world with his single kidney. The feat has never been done. He plans to work tirelessly throughout the journey educating the public on the vital need for living donations and that kidney donation doesn’t slow you down in life! It's important to note that our mentors have shared and continue to share their personal stories of making the impossible - possible with fellow Service Members around the world. 

ONETEAMCF's Purple Heart Summits program is an opportunity on our part to keep mentors growing, becoming stronger... while allowing as many as possible to 'stand on top of their dreams’!
